Local scholarships for juniors or graduating seniors requiring departmental nomination and selection. (Qualified students interested in these scholarships are urged to consult with their major departments.) These scholarships are handled by the CLAS office as of Spring 2008-- please contact that office for more information.

• Allen S. Wilber Scholarship for graduating seniors planning graduate work at KU in humanities or social science. Approx. $8000.
• The Betty Wahlstedt Award for a graduating senior planning graduate study in the behavioral sciences. Approx. $750.
• The Hilden Gibson Award for a graduating senior planning graduate work in political science or sociology (preferably at KU). Approx. $400
• The Kate Stephens Fellowship for a graduating or recently graduated senior planning graduate studies in literature, history, or ethics at an institution east of the Alleghenies and west of the Rockies. Alternate years; approx. $4000.
