Rhodes Scholarship
- Students apply during the spring semester, usually before their last undergraduate year or even a year or two later.
- Students must be younger than 24 years of age on October 1 the year of application (year before going to England).
- The scholarship provides for two years of study at Oxford, with possible opportunity for a third.
- Criteria: Exceptionally high academic achievement, significant activities/experiences (e.g. research, national or international service/study), character, interest in /respect for others, leadership, energy.
- Thirty-two recipients are selected nationwide.
- Students must receive a nomination from KU to be considered
- An information meeting regarding the Rhodes Scholarship (as well as the Marshall and Mitchell Scholarships) will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 3:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m.(repeat of earlier session) in Nunemaker Center.
- Applications for a KU nomination are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Nunemaker Center. (Submit draft 2 weeks earlier.)
