Honors Research Development Program

Summer 2008

The Honors Research Development Program is a three-week intensive immersion in basic research methods and introduces selected undergraduate honors students to research opportunities across the University.

Program participation is limited to students who will have just completed their freshman year in the Honors Program at KU.  Only freshmen students are eligible to apply.

Students with interests spanning a wide range of subjects are encouraged to apply for the HRDP.  During the program, the methods and research opportunities from a broad array of disciplines, e.g., the Humanities, the Natural Sciences, Engineering, the Social Sciences, are introduced and explored.

The program will run from Tuesday, June 3rd through Monday, June 23rd.

Students enrolled in the Honors Research Development Program will not be able to enroll in other KU courses during that time.

Students who complete the HRDP will receive a $1500 stipend.  The stipend will be awarded in two stages: $750 at the beginning of the program and $750 after the successful completion of the program.

Applications are due Thursday, February 21st in Nunemaker Center.
