Advising Guide

"We are trying to pass on to succeeding generations our own enthusiasm for the life of the mind. We want to help them go further than we have been able to go ourselves."

J. Michael Young, University Honors Director, 1991-1995

The Honors Program at the University of Kansas, one of the oldest in the country, provides intellectually talented students opportunities to explore the many facets of a large research university within a small liberal arts and sciences college environment. With its smaller honors courses, advising from honors faculty and staff, opportunities for research, and co-curricular activities and events, honors students form a community of scholars deeply involved in acquiring the best education KU has to offer.
