The Honors Program believes that enhancing the education of honors students involves activities and opportunities outside the classroom. Many activities specific to honors, such as the Alumni Lecture series, the honors ambassador program and the honors student organization provide for student involvement and expansion of students' horizons. Honors also collaborates with other units across campus such as the Museums of Art and Natural History, the Hall Center for the Humanities, the Dole Institute of Politics, the Commons, the Learning Communities and the libraries to develop innovative classroom and research possibilities.

Recent events include:

  • The University Lecture Series at The Commons on Global Climate Change
  • Alumni Lecture Series—Christine Knudsen, IDP Advisor, United Nations “UN Policy and Displaced Persons”
  • Lecture—Takao Shibata, Former Consul General of Japan: “Post-Conflict Reconciliation and Ending Poverty in Africa”
